Wonderful Lesbian Romance Books by Shamim Sarif

There was a time when lesbianism was one of those topics which people felt shy to talk about. People do discuss about the issue and the society is also being educated with facts about the same. Lately, many writers have also written lesbian romance books which have experienced huge sales in the market like other love novels.

While discussing about lesbian books, we definitely need to talk about two wonderful books named "I can't think straight" and "The world unseen" written by world renowned novelist Shamim Sarif. In fact these two books are counted among the most entertaining lesbian novels that have done very well in the market and are very popular with novel lovers.

The World Unseen lesbian romance books

The world unseen is the debut novel of Shamim Sarif which has brought her great appreciation, much more than what she actually expected. Shamim's writing in this book is very delicate, but confident. The characters in her book are so well presented that they seem to be real and the situations are very believable. The story is about two women Miriam and Amina, who are of different natures, but yet get attracted towards each other and gradually their relationship blossom into love. Set in the apartheid society of South Africa during the 1950s, the writer beautifully describes how the lives of two women with opposite natures turn upside down, when they meet each other and a relationship starts building up between them. "The world unseen" is one of those lesbian romance books that throw light on the social bounds set on women of all times.

The other lesbian romance book written by Shamim is named as "I can't think straight". The story is set in Jordan and London and the main characters are named as Tala and Leyla. Tala is about to get married when she meets are best friend's girlfriend Leyla. Tala finds Leyla to be unique in several ways and a relationship gradually starts to develop between them. As the friendship between both the women starts to turn into love, Tala realizes the cultural restrains and her own duties and pulls away from Leyla.

After the huge success in the market, both these books have been adapted for screen. Directed by Shamim herself, the movies too have done very well in the film industry. Now you can find the lesbian movie dvd of both these films.

Seeking Sara Summers by Susan Gabriel Lesbian Novels

In recent years, lesbian books have grown significantly as a genre. You can find all kinds of books, including lesbian fiction of all kinds; romance, mystery, action, even cowgirl! And of course there are biographies and books written by lesbians about non-lesbian topics.

In this case we are discussing women's fiction books, of which lesbian books and lesbian fiction in particular are subcategories. Interestingly, it has been found that a great many heterosexual women, married, as well as single, read so-called lesbian books.

lesbian books - lesbian fiction - lesbian novel

A recent novel in the lesbian books category is Seeking Sara Summers. Author Susan Gabriel did not write this book specifically as a work of lesbian fiction, although there is lesbian theme. Indeed, as the story opens, the main characters have been heterosexual their whole lives. The focus of the novel is on the changes that happen to Sara Summers, the main character, as she awakens to the truth about the state of her marriage and then explores what to do about it. This exploration takes her in directions she never would have guessed.

For those seeking lesbian fiction with frequent and explicit sex scenes, this book will disappoint. There are some steamy scenes, but the author lets your imagination fill in a lot of the blanks.
